Quotes from YB Lim Kit Siang: (http://blog.limkitsiang.com/2009/02/06/constitutional-scandal-of-two-perak-mbs-abdullah-should-support-dissolution-and-state-elections/)

Last year’s general election results were the outcome of the exercise of the constitutional and democratic rights of the people of Perak to elect the government of their choice, while the present attempt to oust the legitimate Pakatan Rakyat government by UMNO and Barisan Nasional is a most unethical and opportunistic power-play frustrating the verdict of the voters in the March 8 general election last year.”

For your information, I’m not trying to side BN. But I just could not understand. It’s irony. PR blames BN for taking opportunity against them. Because of this opportunity done by BN caused Perak’s state goverment under PR to be collapsed. He said “this is the most unethical and opportunistic power-play”.

My question: how about PR intentions of taking over federal government by “asking” some of BN MP’s to crossover or to defect so that they will be able to form a federal government? Is it an ethical approach?

My friends who supported PR will definitely argue by giving a lot of reasons (corruption, cronyism and etc). They will OK to BN to defect PR because PR will give this nation a new outlook and bringing in more changes. I do agree that we need to change.

But is it through defections to another party? I don’t think it will solve the root of problems in our nation.
